Book Proposal critique
Are you a non-fiction or academic author pursuing a traditional publishing contract, or planning to submit your book proposal to an agent? Perhaps you have had your proposal rejected before with little feedback. Persuading publishers to invest in your writing can be a challenge. As an experienced commissioning editor, I have a wealth of knowledge on what makes a good proposal, as well as the common pitfalls.
If you would like feedback on your proposal ahead of submitting to a publisher or agent, you should consider a book proposal critique. This service includes:

-
A full evaluation of your book proposal with in-text comments on what works well and what areas need development
-
A review of your sample chapter(s)
-
A proofread of all your material, correcting any small issues with spelling, punctuation, and grammar etc.
-
A 45-minute call to discuss feedback and areas for improvement

For this service, I charge a £200 flat fee. Proposals including more than one sample chapter will incur higher fees.
Please note, whilst a book proposal critique aims to improve the suitability of a proposal, it does not guarantee proposal acceptance by an agent or publisher.
If you are interested in using this service, please drop me an email at susannahbutler.edits@gmail.com with a short synopsis and word count of your book and I will be in touch.
